All of these are subject to the elements so only certain kinds of wood such as teak and synthetics are used for the making. The synthetic materials include plastic and polywood. The moisture resistance is why these are chosen in the making.

The fact that outdoor furniture made from these materials is resistant to moisture and does not deteriorate at a fast rate is just one of the good points. There is also the ability of these materials to be made into a variety of shapes and are light making them easy to carry and move. Now the furniture is curved instead of the traditional square shapes that did not allow for the contours of the body.

The usability of these pieces is not the only thing that is considered. The appeal that they can add to the surroundings is taken into consideration as well when it comes to furniture for the outside. There are choices in color now and the availability of heavier materials if the furniture if being put somewhere permanently.
